My dad and I took 'Wayward Belle' to Lake Lahontan, near Silver Springs, Nevada to explore the lake, and Carson River at flood stage. Listen to the birdsong as we snoop up river and through the flooded Cottonwoods. Likely only the third steamboat to ever go up the Carson River (the other two being the 'Mikahala' and 'George H. Sandin' both owned by my dad).
We spent two days out there, camping on an island overnight. We fouled the prop a number of times, bumped the bottom, and even broke the steering cable... it was all TOTALLY worth it!
Unfortunately my batteries ran out for my cameras and my gopro time lapse footage wasn't very good, so you miss the part of our trip up to the dam.
Filmed June of 2023, after the 2022-2023 Sierra Snowpocalypse.
So happy we made that trip, and was able to document it.
