Testing 30 Steam Deck 3D prints in 30 days. Day 14: USB-C strain relief - protects your cable, not quite your port. WEEK 2 COMPLETE!

✅ 16 minute print
✅ 2g filament
✅ 3 versions available
✅ Reduces cable bend and weight stress
⚠️ Connector size compatibility issue

This slides onto your USB-C cable first, then sits on the Deck's port area and surrounds the connector. Keeps cable upright, stops it rocking too far in any direction. Helps reduce cable weight pulling on the port while charging or using power banks.

COMPATIBILITY: Most of my cables had connectors too big to fit through the strain relief opening. Not cable thickness—connector head size. Found one that worked, but you may need to adjust in slicer for larger connectors.

THE REALITY: Steam Deck community discovered ports fail from internal solder stress—tiny joints breaking from sideways pressure over time. This strain relief helps reduce sharp tugs and cable bend (protecting your cable primarily), but doesn't fully prevent internal solder stress.

WHAT ACTUALLY HELPS MORE:
- Magnetic USB-C adapters (stay in port permanently, sacrificial connection)
- 90-degree cables (redirect stress away from port)
- Right-angle USB-C adapters (reduce direct pull)
- U-shaped adapters (eliminate sideways stress)
- Not letting power banks dangle from long straight cables

Print this for cable protection and bend reduction. Don't expect it to save your port long-term—that's about using better cable angles or magnetic connections. Popular doesn't mean it does what people think.

WEEK 2 COMPLETE: 14 prints tested, honest verdicts, real research.

Verdict: Only If You Need It 🟡
