Steam bending is the technique of applying steam to wood to make it easier to bend. The steam heats and adds moisture to the wood, making it more pliable. The steamed wood is then clamped in a form to cool. After cooling, the wood holds the shape of the form. Sandor Nagyszalanczy takes you through the process he used to create the long, curved leg pieces for the music stand project that he built for the November/December 2017 issue of Woodworker's Journal.
