F-47 has arrived.
Stealth aircraft are designed to be stealthy by reducing their radar cross-section (RCS), minimizing thermal and acoustic signatures, and using other low-observable technologies. This makes them harder to detect by radar, infrared, sonar, and other sensors. The F-117 Nighthawk was the first operational aircraft designed with stealth technology, and other examples include the B-2 Spirit, F-22 Raptor, and F-35 Lightning II.
Key Principles of Stealth Technology:
Reducing Radar Cross-Section (RCS):
Stealth aircraft are shaped to deflect radar signals away from the radar source, and they use materials that absorb radar waves. This makes them less visible to radar.
Minimizing Thermal Signatures:
Stealth aircraft often have engine designs that minimize heat emissions, making them less visible to infrared sensors.
Reducing Acoustic Signatures:
Stealth aircraft are designed to be quieter, as noise can also be used to track aircraft.
