Most people know “In the Army Now” as a Status Quo classic, but it actually started life as a little-known anti-war song written by Dutch brothers Rob and Ferdi Bolland in 1981. Status Quo heard it, loved it, and turned it into a worldwide hit in 1986. Interestingly, they even changed some lyrics, removing direct references to the Vietnam War to make the song more universal.
