ALTM1, Aluminium Test Motor 1, test 1. Powered by a KNSU propellant grain. The grain was over-cooked, then wetted down and cast. This resulted in a really bad propellant grain, as evident from the stuttering.
The rear end seal was made from tightly packed alu-foil, but gaps in this led to burn-through and significant rear-end leaks.
The nozzle performs well, giving a nice thrust plume for one second when the propellant burned correctly, so the static test is not a failure, but proves potential for ALTM1.
