About the wall's quality:
You don't need to make the walls from amethyst or diamond, that wastes a lot of resource and time. The gold walls are strong enough and now you can repair the those with a spanner..but if you have time you can do it, why not? I think you should use amethyst gear to collect resources faster and protect yourself.
