Let's play some more evil genius 2. The basics of the lair are up and running, it's time for us to expand a bit, establish an actual science lab so the scientists can conduct research. Also we need money because apparently researching costs money, who knew. Digging up more corridors sending minions out on schemes, we slowly gather some more money to do evil, regular things even as the forces of all that is good continue to invade our property without a warrant and try to snoop around unsuccessfully. For we are the Evil Genius and they are just the do gooders of supposed justice, that falls flat.
