Although the elements of science fiction had been circulating for well over a hundred years, what is considered the Golden Age of Science Fiction began in 1938 (arguably). But before John W. Campbell and Astounding Stories Magazine, inventor, editor, and publisher Hugo Gernsback published the first all “scientifiction” pulp magazine, launched in April, 1926. This magazine titled Amazing Stories focused on traditional fiction genres with a scientific bend. This publication would kick off a trend in short story writing and initiate the Golden Age of Science Fiction.
