Starship Flight 12 is getting closer than ever, with the first NET launch date now on the table—and a brand-new trajectory that could pave the way for future tower catches.
This week, SpaceX pushed forward across Starbase with full launch retraction tests at Pad 2, major progress on the Ship Quick Disconnect arm, and a dramatic deluge test that may have revealed issues at the tank farm. Meanwhile, Ship 40 has rolled out to Massey’s for cryogenic testing ahead of Flight 13, and Booster 20 stacking is nearing completion inside Mega Bay.
We also take a deep dive into the latest testing at Massey’s, where the booster liquid oxygen landing tank is finally preparing for full structural load testing—and where test tank B18.3 continues to simulate real flight stresses, now even with TPS tiles installed.

Leading up to NSFs Starship Flight 13 launch broadcast, NSF will go live with over six hours of commentary as we stakeout Starships 13th flight attempt 2. We will answer questions, observe the ongoing activity at Starbase, and provide you with everything you need to know for Starship Flight 13.
Launch Window: July 23rd at 5:45PM to 7:15PM CDT (22:45-00:15 UTC)

Mission: Starships 13th integrated flight test. Correcting issues from version 3s debut flight.
Launch location: Pad 2, Starbase, Earth.
Target orbit: Trans-atmospheric
Booster: B20-1
Ship: S40-1
Booster recovery: Expended - will attempt a water splashdown, no recovery.
