The new Peacock Original series 'M.I.A.' premieres today, delivering a gritty revenge-driven crime drama set between the Florida Keys and Miami. The series follows Etta Tiger Jonze, played by Shannon Gisela, a young woman whose family drug operation is violently destroyed, forcing her into Miami’s dangerous criminal underworld as she searches for vengeance against the people responsible.
Blending cartel warfare, family betrayal and survival, the series brings together an intense ensemble cast featuring Maurice Compte, Gerardo Celasco, and Marta Milans. Compte portrays Mateo Rojas, a powerful and calculating member of the Rojas crime family, while Celasco stars as Samuel Rojas, Mateo’s brother who is deeply tied to the family’s criminal empire. Milans plays Caroline Carver, a woman caught in the dangerous power struggles surrounding the Rojas family.
I recently had the opportunity to speak with the trio about the new series and also wished them all a happy belated birthday, as each of them celebrated their birthdays during the month of April.
