Starfleet Tactical #184: Star Trek Spaceflight Chronology's  Marshall-class Destroyer  [31 Jan 2026@9pmET]

Rick Sternbach and Mike Okuda defined Star Trek more than any people other than the Genes (Roddenberry & Coon) themselves. Last episode we looked at Sternbach's "Star Trek Spaceflight Chronology" (1979). This week we'll do a deep dive on a standout ship of that book, the Marshall-class destroyer. We'll look at what little history we have, put it in context, and then do a deep dive on the most extensive source available on the class, the (non-canon) blueeprints of Jim "JBOT" Botaitis [jbot.ca/blueprints.shtml].  (We've looked at his stuff before, and while we have some differences of opinion in approach, we *really* like his stuff.) And then we'll finish with a few ideas about variants and the like. So, come explore the Marshall class!

Since May 2020 he's been the co-host (with Pat Doyle) of "Starfleet Tactical" on the Ares Studio channel on YouTube. His hobbies are naval history, science fiction, and not speaking for his employer.
