Like spacegoing aircraft carriers in your science fiction? Good for you I do too!
But I used to spend time on aircraft carriers, and have done a lot of thinking about aircraft carriers, and my science fiction superpower is I can think about Real World(tm) navies and science fiction navies AT THE SAME TIME.
So lets talk a little bit about big vs small aircraft carriers, with a little side dish of why I dont think spacegoing carriers make sense in Star Trek but might make sense in other science fiction.

In episode 188, Chris started a deep dive on McCollums Antares trilogy, looking at the general background of these and a synopsis of each book.
In this episode, Chris will conclude withMcCollum, by doing an even deeper dive on the strategic and tactical implications of the foldspace topology of the antagonists, how that influences ship design and operations and how Chris would design ships for this universe.
