Universal has always been fascinated by dueling steel coasters, pioneering one of the most ambitious rides for its time with Dueling Dragons B&M Inverted coasters at Islands of Adventure. This would be followed by Battlestar Galactica at Universal Studios Singapore in 2010, a Vekoma coaster with two entangled launched tracks featuring one sit down and one inverted coaster, furthering the concept. After the removal of the Dragons, a big hole was left in the hearts of Orlando visitors who were fans of the coaster, until the opening of Stardust Racers at Epic Universe in 2025. This would be from Mack rides, featuring two sit down tracks jam packed with more airtime than any coaster in Florida, intertwined with endless hills in the first half before a fully side by side second half, featuring one of the most daring clearance envelopes of any racing coaster, making guests feel like they could reach out and touch the other track. Stardust Racers is located in the parks central hub of Celestial Park, an astronomical land, with the theme of the coaster letting riders fill the role of comet jockeys, lassoing down the stars and allowing you to ride and race each other through the sky. The coaster also features on board audio and an incredible light show on the trains, changing color through the ride and the night with a mesmerizing display of power.
