Leann (flute player) absolutely adores Stardew Valley, so with the July 2021 /r/PixelMixers contest theme of Simulation games in play, it was a no-brainer what source we'd pick from! It also got Chris to finally start her own farm adventure - which is what you see in the video 👩🌾 (still grumpy they wouldn't let you marry Robin....)
We chose one of the summer themes that had some rocking woodwind parts as well as a whole tractor load of auxiliary percussion - a first for us and not something we know much about (thanks Sean!!!!) This piece is a total bop and very seasonally appropriate 🌞 though maybe it was a little TOO sunny while recording outside hahaha. While the cover is pretty close to the original, we wanted to really lean into the crescendo (pun!) and decrescendo at the end of the piece for day and night.
