NOTE: I've made a big big mistake in this video, it is not 2133CL9 but 2133CL14! If you have DDR3 2133CL9 you may still be fine. These tests are all on DDR4! So sorry about that. Regardless, if you have DDR4 2133, you are still absolutely bottlenecked by your RAM, especially if you have a Haswell CPU or any newer generation CPUs.

I recorded this video at 1440p for better quality. I recommend watching at 1440p for the best viewing experience. There is no performance variance between 1080p and 1440p. Unfortunately, there is no ultra-wide support for Starcraft II AFAIK. If you know a fix, please PM me. I would highly appreciate it. Playing the single player campaign at an ultrawide resolution would definitely be awesome.

Summary:
This frame rate analysis between different memory timings and speeds show that Starcraft 2 likes memory bandwidth. My CPU is a 7700k clocked at 4.5ghz, but there's still a significant FPS increase with memory OC. The GTX1080Ti maxes out only at 50% during heavy battles even at 1440p resolution. I wasn't able to test at 4000mhz memory clock because I can't get my system to be stable.

Conclusion:
Starcraft 2 is one of the most revealing game when it comes to a CPU's single core gaming performance. Starcraft 2 should be in every single game-based CPU benchmarks. Not to mention since the game is absolutely CPU limited, memory speeds also scale well with OCs, as you can see in this test.

There is a huge increase in FPS from 2133C9 to 3200C14, ranging from about 10-25% increase on average. From 3200 to 3600 there is minimal gain, and sometimes 3600mhz is even slower! Seems that the sweet spot in SC2 for memory is 3200C14. I highly recommend getting a 3200mhz C14 RAM.

That's it and hope you enjoyed the video. You can also watch my other RAM speed test videos on my channel. Thanks!

Other notes:
I used the unit preloader map for Legacy of the Void by jnkw#1150. You can also use the other preloader maps for Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm, but this one is the best. The other map I used is micro 3.0 which allows you to test any units known in SC2.
