Instead of huge plasma tanks that had the potential to blow up a whole squadron on the field, they changed the built-in weapons to a large array of Concussion Grenades, that both packs an explosive punch efficient against well armored opponents as well as deliberately knocking out any steering systems out of mechanical units, or just smack biological units silly, slowing their movement speed significantly. The impact is designed to hamper any form of opponent's ability to move fast.
