This week, I recorded my version of the Star Wars Main Theme, originally composed by John Williams, in celebration of the new Star Wars movie (The Last Jedi). Hope you enjoy it!
Because improvisations are composed in real time during recording, they are always less polished than composed/arranged pieces; however, there are many musical and artistic benefits to improvisation. It was an important aspect of classical music training until relatively recently, and I think it's unfortunate that it's not still done today. One of my aims for this channel is to show its musical merits in the form of lessons and performances, as well as to document my own playing. I hope you enjoy listening!
Please comment with suggestions of popular themes for me to improvise on. These can be anything, Disney songs, pop songs, folk tunes, anything!

About me: I am currently a doctoral piano performance student based in Colorado. I did my undergraduate and master's degrees at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. I have played the piano for seventeen years, and I have always had a passion for improvisation.
