A cloaked Klingon coms buoy has detected 3 Starfleet combadge signatures. The combadges match the signature of 3 missing officers that were lost during a Vin-Shari raid against the USS Ontario.
While most of the crew stays behind to conduct repairs on Narendra Station myself and my hand picked team have been tasked with investigating these signatures and if possible, rescuing the officers to whom they belong.
To aid in this the Klingon Empire is lending us a B'Rel class bird of prey, the I.K.S. 'uSqan 'etlh. It's a ship that was decommissioned in the wake of the Dominion war, and it's being recommissioned just for this mission because it seems we will need a cloaking device.
The signals have been traced to a planet in the Vin-Shari (vin-shar-ee) system. Specifically, a class-H world that is the closest planet to the Vin-Shari sun. The whole system is heavily militarized, but that planet seems to have more firepower defending it than any other planet in the system save the Vin-Shari home world.
I am confident that my senior staff are the right officers for this job, or at least the ones I want with me, but infiltrating enemy military installations is easy, but reading Klingon? That's hard.
The planet is called Scorch, and the crew are unable to pinpoint any of the com signals with their ship's sensors to a more narrow area than a few score square kilometers. Further the planet is surrounded by weapons and sensor platforms that would surely detect any transporter activity. The surface itself is hostile, with a hot dry climate, hostile fauna, and humanoids of various species and unknown disposition. The search for the missing officers will not be easy. Can the crew evade detection by the Vin-Shari, deal with the dangerous wildlife, navigate the local prisoner population, and rescue their comrades?
