I wanted to try my hand at making a heavier hip-hop/trap beat while sampling a video game tune, and so I thought that the action-packed Sector Omega theme from Star Fox Zero would be a good fit for this zany flip!

Man, music from Mother and Earthbound has been getting to me recently :,) Even though Ive only barely played Mother 3 and played a minimal amount of Earthbound with a friend once, this series is just so touching with its story, art, and music.

Ever since Smash Bros Ultimate came out and I found that this song existed in the game (it plays after you beat classic mode or do some challenges or something), you know that I immediately thought I NEEEED to cover this. So thanks to the fellas at Ninsheetmusic, I can finally bring this Piano Collections/Yoko Shimomura-esque piano cover to all of you! The combination of simple transcription with complex counterpoint just makes this arrangement a joy to listen to and play, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Year 6 is finally officially here! Piano hype! I know its ironic that this song is technically for the endgame of Celeste, but its for the *opening* of the endgame so it technically works, right? 👀💦
Back when I made my original Celeste cover of Resurrections, I never expected for it to get the reception that it did. Heck, it even got nominated for a GANG audio award for best acoustic cover (basically an Oscar of VGM lol). Back then, I had never played Celeste either, so after seeing how many people enjoyed the cover I decided to pick up the game for myself. Man, has it been an experience so far! I beat the main story (with a lot of deaths...) and Im working on the B sides right now. When I heard about the upcoming free DLC for the game and how huge its gonna be, I got super hyped both to be able to play it and to be able to see how the new soundtrack could possibly top the great music in the base game. Suffice to say, the two tracks weve gotten previews of so far are pretty atmospheric and beautiful, cant wait to hear and cover the rest!
Anyways, get ready for another piano year full of wacky shenanigans (I wore a winter jacket in summer weather for this cover oof), more gorgeous visuals, some spicy collaborations, and a new and improved piano sound! Also possibly a couple more surprises, but youll just have to wait and see...

National Park from Pokémon Gold & Silver is such an iconic tune that means a lot in nostalgia to many OG Pokémon players. It was my privilege to make a piano fantasia style arrangement for the Pixel Mixers album Catch This! Vol. 2: Goldenrod FM, and I hope yall enjoy it!

In both iterations of generation 2 (Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal and Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver), National Park is one of the most iconic tracks in the game if not in the entire franchise. So many fans get nostalgia from hearing this beautiful tracks, and even for a person like me whos never really gotten into Pokémon I hear so much nostalgic charm in it. Thats why when Pixel Mixers was recruiting for its Pokémon Gen 2 album Catch This! Vol. 2: Goldenrod FM, I was extremely honored to be chosen to arrange this track.
My thoughts going into this arrangement was to make it as piano concerto-ish and crystalline as possible, sort of in the vein of Debussys Claire de Lune. Balancing the fine line between fantastical/technical piano elements in Chopin-esque Fantasie Impromptu style along with delicate/romantic melodic lines was tough and it took me several days of arranging to figure out how I wanted it to sound, but Im very proud of the 6 minute long arrangement that came out of it! I also added in the piano introduction from the HeartGold and SoulSilver version of this track and made some variations on it for the middle cadenza of the piece. Unfortunately I dont have video for this one since it was recorded for an album but I hope yall enjoy seeing how many notes I had to play in Synthesia :P
