Star Fox has made a triumphant return on the Switch 2, with a remake of what many people consider the best entry in the series as well as what I consider to be one of the most quotable games of all time, Star Fox 64!
This remake expands upon the lore and the new features of Star Fox 64, with a campaign where you can customize your route to Venom each time by completing certain tasks in each mission with an unlockable expert difficulty, and a challenge mode for each mission with a list of 6 objectives for each level on both Normal and Expert, unlockable medals for scoring a certain number of hits with all of your crewmates surviving, and unlockable information about all of the characters and planets for completing everything!
There is also a greatly expanded online multiplayer Battle Mode!
Next in this playthrough, Challenge Mode continues! Each level has a set of 6 Normal Challenges and 6 Expert Challenges (unlocked by beating all of the Normal challenges). Next up, Fichina!
Normal Challenges:
-Kill all 4 members of Star Wolf
-Do a somersault to evade a pursuing member of Star Wolf
-Destroy all 8 radar stations
-Destroy all 26 antennae
-Shoot down a teammate's target 3 times
-Clear the map of Invader 1 enemies before completing the mission
Expert Challenges:
-Complete the mission without any teammates being downed
-Save the base without damaging a wing
-Kill all 4 members of Star Wolf without performing a somersault or U-Turn
-Score 60 hits
-Kill any member of Star Wolf within 30 seconds of their appearance
-Kill any member of Star Wolf with a bomb
