I upgraded the Mole with better components and went back for more Quantanium mining in Star Citizen 4.6. Found a cracker and attempted the impossible.. This weeks videos:
After my first Quantanium mining run where I went in completely unprepared, I decided to double down and do it properly. I headed to Levski, bought new mining heads, surge modules, and focus modules for the MISC Mole, and went back to the asteroid fields to find more of that sweet Quantanium. The goal was simple — mine smarter, mine better, and make more money.
What I didn't expect was finding a rock the game literally labelled as impossible to mine. The optimal charge window was basically non-existent, and I had to do field modifications mid-run, swapping modules between mining heads on the surface of an asteroid to try and crack it. After multiple loadout changes and a lot of persistence, I actually managed to break it open and pull out over 10 SCU of Quantanium worth over a million aUEC once refined.
This video also covers how mining is changing in Star Citizen 4.7, where rocks will only contain one material instead of multiple. That means scanning and finding specific resources like Quantanium will be way faster, and pure rocks could become a real thing.
