A film by Rosemary Shepherd about the celebrated English painter Sir Stanley Spencer (1891-1959), famous for painting landscapes, works relating to both world wars, portraits, nudes and biblical scenes. Much of his work was set in his home village of Cookham. The drama uses the writings of Stanley and Hilda Spencer.
