March 7, 2025
This seminar covers:
• Embodied intelligence with morphing materials and mechanisms
• Facing open design challenges, such as complete degradability and biocompatibility, arbitrary shape morphing, and freely reconfigurable degrees of freedom
• How addressing these challenges sometimes requires looking beyond conventional mechatronic systems
• The critical role of computational design and optimization in assisting robotic and machine design and control
Follow along with the seminar schedule: stanfordasl.github.io/robotics_seminar/archive
Lining Yao is an Assistant Professor at the Mechanical Engineering department, the University of California, Berkeley, where she directs the Morphing Matter Lab (morphingmatter.org).
