On the 69th anniversary of Rosa Parks’ arrest – December 1, 2024 – The Henry Ford hosted an afternoon of curated programming alongside Dr. Jeanne Theoharis, author of “The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks,” and Dorothy Dewberry Aldridge, native-Detroit civil and human rights advocate who fought beside Mrs. Parks.
The event began with a free screening of the adapted documentary of Dr. Theoharis’ biography of Parks, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A moderated by Amber N. Mitchell, Curator of Black History at the Henry Ford.
