A little background:

The yoshi WR as of today sits at 6.97 by samthedigital youtube.com/watch?v=FLHf5mB52QI . About a week ago, aMSa started trying attempts at the WR using the TAS strat's ending (6.52 youtube.com/watch?v=-IogodD3ggY). And his progress has been fantastic. Currently he has 7.01 youtube.com/shorts/yTX6A6_33HU and is continuing attempts daily.

aMSa is the one who definitely took a serious shot with the TAS strat. T8 was never impossible (a few of us have hit the egg before), but to get the run on pace with good timing and precision, nobody really attempted it until now. It's colloquially referred to as the "god egg". Fun fact, the youtube link for the TAS run has a similar rendition of that phrase in it's URL

He has since inspired runners like me and jenkem66 to run the strat, who have both hit the 7.0x threshold. IMO, aMSa still feels the closest to breaking WR but we have to give him SOME competition :)

Now for me, I'll probably head to the TAS lab and figure out where I can save frames and see how low I can really take this. I believe 6.8x is out there, and I'm sure one of us will eventually hit it given the competition.
