If you are saved in Deep Woods, simply selecting your file will start the thunderhead cutscene, which is annoying for this RBM.
If you commit your storys flag when you start BiT (the same way as FFB, to load the tunic), and then collect a rupee with a file that has the goddess sword, you unlock the ability to call Fi in BiT.
If you skyward strike the log with a diagonal slash, and call fi precisely as the skyward strike hits the log, you can open your file without the thunderhead cutscene starting, and then closing the fi text with give you both early thunderhead and the logs flag. This allows for performing this RBM from deep woods instead of having to do it in the main Faron area.
