This bass looks pretty sexy for a cheap beginner bass - let's put it to the test.
The Squier Vintage Modified Jazz was one of our favorite basses in this blindfolded bass reviews series.
We start with some whining about the big Fender-style neck block, which isn't an issue with this specific bass, but is a general characteristic of Fenders that makes upper fret access more difficult.
We walked through the tonal options in detail, with all pickup and tone knob settings. And there's an interesting plot twist after I adjusted the bridge pickup height...
The Squier worked well with fingerstyle, pick, or slap, so it was fun to try a range of techniques on.
