I wanted to purchase a DIY guitar kit, in order to learn how a guitar works and at the same time to have my own custom guitar. But since I have limited options because I am left handed and also in most of the DIY kit video reviews I've watched, people that had many issues while building their kit, I decided to go for a ready made guitar and take everything apart, in order to rebuild it.
So my choice was a Squier Affinity Telecaster, which is a very well built guitar for its value and except the things I did on the body, I replaced the tuning machines with Wilkinson EZ-LOK tuners, the pickups with Wilkinson 60's Vintage Voice set, the scratchplate with a black pearl USA MEX and the neck plate with a "Fender" one.
