Each year, the SPSP Annual Convention features a Presidential Plenary session in which leading voices in our field focus on a key issue in their research. This year's session focused on how norms change. Norms change both spontaneously and through concerted efforts to shift social perceptions about what actions and outcomes are legitimate. This plenary covers the impact of changes in social norms on groups’ ability to create positive futures in the United States, West Africa, and Europe as well as the processes underlying these changes.
