Restorative Spring Break at Duke offers students, including undergrads and graduates, a 2-day, low-stress, and grounding experience focusing on rest, reconnection, and wellness. Programs often include hands-on activities such as planting kale, making pizza at the Duke Campus Farm, and taking nature walks.

Good morning. My name is Alyssa Briggs, and I'm a master's of forestry student at Duke University. And I am here at the Duke Campus Farm on a restorative Spring Break. (GASPS) You can see behind me we have a row of heirloom collard greens in yesterday. We actually got to, make paper out of collard greens, and it was just beautiful and restorative.
00:00:24:11 - 00:00:45:21
I had actually worked at the Duke Campus Farm as a first year. I loved working. I loved being part of the mission. But I think the Spring Break in particular has really given me a chance to sort of slow down and connect with why it's so peaceful to be here, why it's so kind to myself to be here and to really get a chance to talk and reconnect with the people that I got to work with.
00:00:45:23 - 00:00:55:09
And it really has just been a really grounding and loving couple of days. So thanks very much to the Office of Climate and Sustainability for sponsoring this Spring Break.
