In this video, I spend the day helping build a new driveway road for my wife’s sister’s homestead project.

The old road surface had already been stripped away, and today our goal was to spread fresh gravel and shape the new road using the excavator. Because the road runs steeply downhill through soft clay terrain, the fully loaded trucks had a hard time moving around, so most of the material had to be dumped into piles and spread manually with the excavator.

You’ll also see some cleanup and grading work around the property, along with before-and-after shots filmed a couple of weeks later.
