The Oakland Museum of California (OMCA )’s Spotlight Sundays presents an in-depth conversation with acclaimed artist Mildred Howard, longtime friend, fellow artist, and art advocate Nashormeh Lindo, and Essence Harden, Senior Curator of Art at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Together, they exchange stories and reflections on a lifetime of art, creative practice, friendship, and living in the Bay Area. The conversation is moderated by Harden, whose prolific curatorial career spans multiple California art institutions.

Howard’s work is currently featured in Mildred Howard: Poetics of Memory, on view at OMCA through October 18, 2026.
Support for this program was provided by The David Ireland House, 500 Capp Street Foundation, and the Kenneth Rainin Foundation.
