Newhaven Wildlife Sanctuary is one of Australia’s largest non-government protected areas. The range and quality of habitats protect a stunning diversity of arid zone birdlife, mammals and reptiles.

It is the site of an ambitious mammal restoration project which aims to reintroduce at least 10 locally extinct or threatened species to the 9,450-hectare feral predator-free fenced area.
