"Negro Unchained" by Suleiman Ali.
"You can jail a Revolutionary, but you can't jail the Revolution."- Huey Newton
"Negro Unchained" is a poem of empowerment. I don't want people to be under the impression that its ONLY a poem black people can relate to - if so, you have misunderstood the MOST important part of this poem. Slavery is a way of life. "We" the people become slaves to our wants. "People" in higher position's abuse their power by taking advantage of those who are willing to forget their OWN beliefs, for the sake of achieving their dreams. Peer pressure is a form of slavery. We lose site of individuality and become instruments of whats popular instead of whats necessary to creating a more fulfilling life.
Nowadays you become a sensation overnight for making a song about literally everything that glorifies our miseducation, and people WORSHIP it. I understand as humans we aren't perfect, but a problem is a problem and a solution is a solution. I don't know maybe Its something I'm missing....
Recited over Meek Mill''s Dream & Nightmares Intro Instrumental.
