The Nintendo Switch release of Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green includes access to two special event areas, after not only winning against the Elite Four but also completing the main goals in the Sevii Islands. Complete all that and come back to Vermillion City, and the port sailor will give you access to two special islands. Cerulean Cave will also become available at this point.
I made this video because the puzzle on Birth Island is unexpectedly tricky. You do not have to be fast. I recommend not using the sprint button for this. You can even stop moving a while in the middle if you'd like. Getting it right seems to be about taking the minimum number of steps from one point to the next. I did not do it in the video, but if you'd like you can stop and save your progress as you're about to interact with the bright red triangle at the end.
And the Pokemon will only be at level 30. Whoever knows Rock Smash you could probably use that (several times). Otherwise likely all your other party member attacks will be too strong to get it low on HP to catch. Apparently FR/LG don't have a False Swipe TM, but if you have a high-level Pokemon with False Swipe you could use that. Or bring in some kind of Pokemon you've caught that's maybe about level 40-50 or something, with a move that's fairly weak. Once I used lv44 Onix from Victory Road and got its HP low with Dragonbreath, with Rage in reserve if Dragonbreath isn't enough. As usual with legendaries, throwing a Thunder Wave its way to paralyze it can probably help to catch it.
I have avoided naming the Pokemon since it is probably a spoiler, but I'll name it next ...
