Spock’s Beard launched “Noise Floor” in 2018, their latest studio album, and it took seven long years before the band returned with “The Archaeoptimist”. The band features three longtime members — Alan Morse, Dave Meros and Ryo Okumoto — who form the core of Spock’s Beard together with Ted Leonard, who joined in 2011. The band also features a new member, drummer Nick Potters.
Drawing inspiration from 1970s progressive rock, Spock’s Beard has created its own distinctive sound, which forms the backbone of the new album.
