Alexander Scriabin? Prelude, Opus say whaa? Thats right! I had the sudden inspiration to proceed elsewhere to rendition something into the steampunk sound, and well, whaddya know! I end up finding a piece by one of my favorite people in music (Alexander Scriabin), perfect for Steampunk! :D.
So why not title it without the pony? Well, I owe DrDissonance1 my thanks and gratitude for getting me into Steampunk in the first place with his Steampunk pony music. Without him and his contributions, I probably would have never heard of such things! Particularly, his music has convinced me Steampunk MUST involve brass! Its too good!
Plus, Im seriously only really publishing and doing this stuff for the pony community; without pony, or the community, I wouldnt have much reason, really, to publish what Ive been making! Even better, I hope that in making more steampunk music for pony, we all see a resurgence in such music, particularly pony, from other people , perhaps even the return from the man himself, the Doctor!
It absolutely agonizes and baffles to me to see how there are supposedly so many people who were (still are?) inspired by DrDissonances steampunk pony music and expressed that they would like to make some on their own! Yet no other such music has appeared... Figured Id just tell my honest thoughts to you. Thats another big reason why Im doing this. Please, ponies, please, help me out!
I added Instrumentation the title to give clear indication that there is only really instrumentation involved in this rendition. That is because I am using extremely limited and underwhelming music software. So, if I could please, for the love of pony, have someone remaster, remix, rearrange whatever my arrangements (and my own compositions), I would very grateful and, thus, we would provide absolutely quality music pony content for everypony! (:
Mostly, I am severely lacking in percussion instruments (Steampunk percussion like bells, whistles, steam, clashes, clangs, etc.), and, thus, the most I can really do is instrumentation itself. I also do not have a DAW, or a music production software. I only have a music notation software: Musescore.
Onto to the process of how I arranged this!
So, working with one of my most favorite composers ever?! AWESOME! (And Im not just saying that because of Rainbow Dash.. ;P). So, I love everything by Scriabin. Literally everything. Unfortunately, as Ive been finding with other pieces from everywhere else, only some happen to be just the right fit for Steampunk! At least, for me.
Keep in mind: Ive no music theory knowledge. At all. The most I know is how to read sheet music! I compose/arrange by ear.
Software used: Musescore. Produced, and arranged within Musescore. Exported from Musescore in .Wav format, to Windows Movie Maker, and then exported from Windows Movie Maker into .mp4 format.
.SF2 (soundfonts used): E-mu Proteus 2; Orchestra Soundfont 2 COMBO; Orchestral Strings; Orchestral Winds, Brass, and Percussion.
So, Im making do with what Ive got, but if youve got the heart in you to just help another person out I havent got the money to afford a music software, so I cant pay you if you wish to help me D; but Id greatly appreciate your kindness and generosity (Elements of Harmony, right? ;P), and Ill be able to produce and compose much better quality music for you. (Ive been working on quite a lot of MLP songs to make into steampunk! I also want to do all the BGM and BGM of Full Metal Alchemist) If this upload isnt enough to convince you of my capabilities, determination, and honesty, and what I can provide for you, I can show you what Ive been working on if youd like! I want to assure you that your trust is well placed if you decide to help me (:
With all said above, please, if you have any music software, (or if you can mix/produce/remaster,etc.,) my stuff for me, then please, let me know! Also, if you can transcribe music, Id greatly appreciate someone who could that for me, as I want to do the BGM of MLP and Full Metal Alchemist.
