This playthrough just started, but as soon as you beat Pantree Beach, this is how the game starts when you boot it up.
----------
Mechanic and Deep Cut have just found and fixed up some kind of Exploring Bot. They want to use this Bot to explore more of the Spirhalite Islands. The catch is that it only has room inside of it for one person at a time.
For now, Big Man will use the Bot, but Shiver and Frye will get their chances later. Mechanic can also hitch a in the Bot in Swim Form.
Oh... and how do they quick send this bot over to a given location...? Frye just takes the Hideout Ship's crane and FLINGS IT AT MACH 1 SPEED!
Use the Treasure Map to check for treasure to hunt throughout different levels!
----------
Upon landing (roughly) in Piel Coast, the team discovers that the Bot can scan for nearby treasure. Some pillars of light were basic, but one would be grander, meaning greater treasure! Time to get it all!
----
In this game, your "This way!" call is turned into "Over here!" and you use the X Button for it instead of Up. This will make your Bot Buddy come over to you to help out. If they're further away, they'll rocket boost over to you from above, which can help with hitting some nearby Salmonids. If they're near enemies, themselves, they'll shoot at them with the Bot.
You can still press Down to "Booyah!", and your Bot Buddy will Booyah back!
If you jump from the Bot, you'll do a Bot Hop. Not only that, but a new action with this game is being able to slowly float downwards using the wind. If you want to go for a hard drop from this, just go into Swim Form.
The Bot Jump can boost you up high spots, and if you're tricky, you could probably do it while they'll leaping towards you.
----
Piel Coast represents the first of most straightforward of this game's levels.
When you get close to a Crystal, call your Bot Buddy over to drill into it! It will use more of those Mysterious Shards and maybe even some treasure for you to keep.
However, if there are Salmonids nearby, then you can't get this done until they've been cleared out.
----
Beating Salmonids still gives you Power Eggs. Boss Salmonds will give you Mega Power Eggs, which are worth 100.
Get enough Power Eggs, and you can activate your Bot Buddy's Showstopper. Big Man's Showstopper is Manta Dance, where Mechanic rides on his back while he rams into Salmonds surrounded by little ink mantas. I like this one a lot because it makes your completely invincible until it's done.
----
A normal raid level is completed when you grab a big Treasure Chest.
But when reporting this to Shiver & Fyre, something suddenly happened to them at the Hideout Ship and Big Man wanted to hurry back.
Except... he and Mechanic hadn't thought of a good way back by themselves...
But then... they saw that Shiver & Frye were safe and sound... and heading towards them right now through the help of their shark and eel friends. It was through their strength that the whole team regrouped by at their ship, along with bringing back the treasure AND even the Bot, too.
----------
It was there that these three finally formally introduced themselves to their Mechanic.
- Shiver, current heir of her shark taming Hohojiro clan. The wielder of Master Mega.
- Fyre, current heir of her eel taming Onaga clan. The wielder of many moray eels.
- Big Man, current heir of the Manta Clan. He doesn't tame or wield anything, but he is the head of his clan's dance school.
Together, they form Splatsville's hottest news and music sensation, and self-proclaimed expert hunters from three families: *Deep Cut!*
...Unfortunately, Mechanic has no prior knowledge of them. They seemed pretty upset...
For now, it was time to check their new treasure...
----------
The treasure came with three different tanks. The Blue Speed, the Orange Power, and the Purple Tactical. They each some with a Gadget, too.
You can use one of these Tanks at a time, but you can switch between them at anytime before going for a raid. These Gadget replace Sub Weapons.
Your Mechanic also gets some new pants!
