The Compass I got from Carbanyara Wetlands introduces a second style of looking for a Sampler Dungeon.
Instead of just pointing directly to where it is, it's more of a heat-based detector where its energy fills up the "warmer" you are to where the Sampler Dungeon is. Just find a direction where this fills up and just keep course towards keeping it as full as possible until you've hit the spot.

For the Sampler Dungeon itself, you just get a Plastic-Bottle Splattershot, as you'll be using it to hit some targets.
The main meat here is that you're surfing on boards through every Squid Ring in each section. Miss a single ring, or balloon target, and the wall to the next section won't open, leading your Mechanic to plummet into the water.
Take as many tries as you need to in order to complete this Sampler Dungeon and get another Skill Tome.
