Mirror matches are pretty common in fighting games, but not exclusive to them. In most competitive games, you'll often see mirror matches of some kind in high level play. From running the same guns as each other in Counter Strike, to both teams running GOATS in Overwatch, mirror matching is pretty common in competitive games. But with Splatoon, mirror matches haven't really been around since the early days of the first game. Why is that the case? Today's topic, I go over the idea of mirror matches in Splatoon and why I believe they aren't as common here, as they are in many other competitive games.
