Gagan Rocco Caputo is an ordained Western Zen teacher in New York City and the acting director of the Zen Buddhist Temple for the past three years. As a student of Samu Sunim, founder of the Buddhist Society for Compassionate Wisdom, Gagan works to adapt and transmit Buddhism to Westerners while maintaining its essence. He leads with gentleness, humor, and compassion and serves as the Director of Youth for Peace at the United Nations, aiming to end division and dehumanization. For over 20 years, Gagan has also been a wellness coordinator at a major NYC cancer center, focusing on meditation and movement for holistic well-being.
