Discipline isn't about working harder in your own strength. Rather, it starts with a deep, daily desperation for Jesus.
In 2 Timothy 2, Paul uses the imagery of a soldier, an athlete, and a farmer to illustrate commitment and endurance. But before any of the hard work begins, his core command is to be strengthened by the grace found in Christ. When we realize our own weakness, our desperation for Him leads us straight to His grace. True spiritual strength isn't about striving - it's about leaning fully into Jesus and relying on the Holy Spirit!
