This is a test of a spiral tower design I've been working on as well as a first time use of VideoVelocity time lapse software.
The camera is capturing one frame every 3 seconds, so you really only see it as a circular rotation, instead of seeing the print head stop and print each of the tube segments.
The tower has been modeled in Fusion 360 with parameters for things like number of tubes, tube diameter, overall height, etc.
The model was sliced in Simplify 3D and printed on a SeeMeCNC Artemis with ProtoPasta Magnetic Iron filament.
The finished tower will then be soaked in vinegar and salt, to promote a rusted patina.
The tower is about 2.5" tall will serve as a base for a 3" wood turned sphere embellished with Archival inks.
