In this Spindle Spotlight I am featuring two support spindles by the German spindle maker Ulrich Büker. Ulrich continues to amaze me by coming up with fun new designs for spindles. His shop carries drop spindles as well as support spindles.
Today I am showcasing his travel spindle and variable weight spindle.
The travel spindle has a two piece shaft, that easily comes apart and makes this spindle the perfect travel spindle. It has a long fast spin time and is well balanced.
The variable weight whorl spindle comes with four placed
bearings and the option to add two more. The spindle comes with the magnet needed to add or remove the bearings, but only being able to manipulate two didn't really change the weight that much. This spindle also spins quickly and for quite a while.
