In this Spindle Spotlight, I am featuring a double arm or Turkish style spindle by Jeri Brock. Jeri was the first woodworker to create spindles with unique cutouts on the cross arms.

Spindle Style Pros:
Easy to start
Can park and draft
Portable
Can be spun suspended or supported if shaft has pointed end
Good for beginners
Cop (turtle) forms a center pull ball
Can be stored flat when not being used
Can spin and ply easily with this style

Spindle Style Cons:
Smaller sizes limit amount that can be plied
Larger sizes are less portable
