In this Spindle Spotlight, I'm featuring a single arm Txoatile or Basque style spindle. In Bette Hochberg's book "Handspindles," she talks about the evolution of spinning tools. This spindle is a lovely example of the hooked stick and a single arm spindle.

Spindle Style Pros:
Good for beginners
Easy to start
Easy to park and draft
Portable

Spindle Style Cons:
Small size doesn't hold a lot of fiber
Wind on has a bit of a learning curve
Not great for plying because of small size
