I have let go of my pride
I have let go of my pride
We are figures in our minds
We don't exist beyond our eyes
Over the mountain by the river bed
I could see the fairies taking flight
And the spiders they were whipping up their webs
I didn't want to go home
They were painting droplings in the sand
I wanted to paint too
Aren't we just all fairies in the dark
They didn't think I could see
But I was alive, I didn't want to go home
There were shadows in my bones
And maybe if I flew to the sun
I wouldn't have them anymore
I have let go of my pride
I have let go of my pride
We are figures in our minds
We don't exist beyond our eyes
Over the mountain by the river bed
I could see the fairies taking flight
And the spiders they were whipping up their webs
I didn't want to go home
They were painting droplings in the sand
I wanted to paint too
Aren't we just all fairies in the dark
They didn't think I could see
But I was alive, I didn't want to go home
There were shadows in my bones
And maybe if I flew to the sun
