It seems like Spidey Editorial is obsessed with making sure the character never grows, never changes, and always remains a perpetual man-child sad sack that can't hold a job or keep a relationship going for more than twenty issues or so.
Yet when other writers get a chance to take their own small cracks at writing for Peter Parker during crossover events, we often get to see some real stellar character work shine through. It's brief, yeah, but it's still enjoyable.
