StoryDtechtive Robert Jones | Spiderman: A Study in Writing Backstory @storydtechtiverobertjones464 | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated 1 hour ago
Spiderman, from the standpoint of concept, is not overly original. And yet, what Stan Lee and Steve Ditko did is an excellent example for writers to study backstory. The elements used to paint their pallet was fresh, moreover, it humanized a fantastic character and made him believable...and relatable. In this episode, I’ll be taking a closer look at why this character has a universal appeal that stood the test of time. From concept to character, Lee and Ditko’s recipe worked in 1962, and still works today. Let’s put Spidey under the microscope and find out why!
